An emerging artist from Kosovo, Blerina Muriqi is completing a two-month internship at AKT, an architecture collective based in Vienna. Muriqi’s project during the residency at the MQ will focus on the concept of spatial intimacy and the interplay between architecture, movement and perception. With a combination of visual art and spatial interventions, she strives to create immersive experiences. These are intended to invite the viewer to reflect on their perception of space and their relationship to their surroundings. Interventions in urban areas create public spaces for community activities, relaxation and events that sensitise citizens to the transformative power of architecture. These interventions encourage social interactions and strengthen the sense of belonging within the community.
While developing her skills in the architecture collective and gaining valuable experience, Blerina Muriqi also wants to explore and engage with the local artistic community. Her aim is to share ideas, make meaningful connections and promote cultural exchange within Vienna’s diverse art scene.
